Leadership Profile

Monda Simmons

Monda Simmons

Leadership Development Senior Strategist

Monda Simmons grew up in Indiana and began her career in education after graduating from Olivet Nazarene University in Illinois, where she met and married Bob. Bob and Monda have two daughters who are involved in education and have two “sons of heart” who have become a part of the family.

Monda’s career has always involved education, whether speaking, writing curriculum, or working in the business world. After the family’s move to Florida, Monda returned to public education where she taught ESL (English as a Second Language) to adults, developed classes in businesses and community industries, and became the Public Information Officer for the local school district.

When the Simmons’ family moved to Texas, Monda was employed by the Pasadena ISD to pilot the “Learning a Living” program, part of the national school-to-work program. This is where she became acquainted with the Flippen Group and began teaching Teen Leadership at Houston High School. Monda saw these processes change the culture of the school as it pertained to both students and faculty.

She joined the Flippen Group in 1999 and as a leadership development senior strategist, Monda continues to live out her passion of developing safe places where all students can learn and grow.
